Randall Frederick Kennon - 1st cousin once removed to Mary McGoldrick

Randall Frederick Kennon was the eldest child of Fred LaRue and Emma (Madison) Kennon. Randall enlisted in the Navy on December 4, 1931 and served until December 15, 1958, he retired as a Captain. In the 1940 census he and his first wife Roberta, sometimes called Rose, are living in Honolulu with their daughter Donna. The family was present during the attack on Pearl Harbor although it was reported that the squadron that Randall was attached to was on a training exercise when Pearl Harbor was attacked. Afterwards the squadron relocated to Kaneohe on the opposite side of the island from Pearl Harbor.

Randall Kennon was assigned to what became known as the Black Cat Squadron, so named because they painted their PBY Catalina flying boats matte black in order to disquise them for night runs.
