In June of 1917 Fred registered for the WWI Draft he gives his birthdate as Jan. 24, 1891 in Ishpeming, MI. His occupation is listed as assembler at the Buick Motor Co., plant #10. He states he is married and claims exemption from the draft because his "Wife is sickly." The registrar notes he is short and of medium weight with brown eyes and black hair.
