    • Jacques Archambault, his wife Francoise Touralt age 47, and his children came from France and landed in Quebec, Canada. They arrived at Québec, with Pierre Legardeur de Repentigny, director of the new Compagnie des habitants; perhaps on August 5, 1645; but more probably on September 23, 1646. His children were Denis age 17, Anne age 16, Jacquette age 15, Marie, age 11, Laurent age 5, Marie age 3 and Louise.

      He was a Well Driller and dug the first well in Montreal. A plaque commemorating this was erected. There are several plaques erected to commemorate the life and deeds of Jacques Archambault. There is also a road in Dompierre, France that was the road the Archambault family traveled to go to Church at St Xandre from Dompierre Sur-Mer.
