Military Note: McKennan, John, Charlemont. Private, Capt. Sylvanus Rice's co. of militia, which marched April 22, 1775, in response to the alarm of April 19, 1775; service, 6 days; reported enlisted into the army April 27, 1775. Served as a private in the Revolutionary War, in Lieut. Joseph Warren's company, which marched from Charlemont on April 21, 1775. Military Note: Served as a private in the Revolutionary War, in Lieut. Joseph Warren's company, which marched from Charlemont on April 21, 1775. He enlisted again on May 10, 1777, in Capt. Lawrence Kemp's company. The company was detached from Hampshire County militia for service under Col. David Wells in the Northern Department. Land: Received a deed from his brother John of a piece of land. Died: John is said to have died in the war.
