    The letter from Ethel states: "After the death of Gervase Hendrick, Joe Forester, came to America with his half-brother James Hendrick, and the other members of the family came later in 1863 or 1864. After spending a few weeks with his half-brother, Joe Forester left for other parts and was not heard from thereafter."
    Other records show that James had left Ireland earlier.

    Mary Ellen only daughter in a family of six children. Two brothers were named Bartholomew and Matthew; names of other three brothers unknown. Two brothers each had two sons who were ordained priests; two of these four priests were consecrated bishops, one at Detroit, Michigan and one at Baltimore Maryland. One brother had two daughters who came to America, Sister Vincent Foley who died at Syracuse, NY and her sister, Ann, who attended her funeral, at that time she was living in New Jersey.
