Note: John Marche appears in the records of the court of the manor of Stokenham, Co. Devon, ENGLAND in 1569 and 1570, when he was charged with diverting the water at Allymore from its right course, so that it could not run to the mill of the lord of the manor.

Note: William, son of John, was mentioned in the manor rolls of Stokenham, 3 Jan 1580/1 and in 1610 was called "William Marche, sen." in the rolls. He was probably identical with William Marche "the elder" of Sherford, Co. Devon, yeoman whose will was dated 29 Apr 1612, named the seven children of his deceased son, Richard, and surviving children of his own.

Note: A story is told of Eulalia Marche Burt, that in England she apparently died, was put in her coffin for interment when signs of life were seen and she was resuscitated and recovered, came to New England and lived to a great age. DNA: MKM Immigratn: Emigrated from England to Roxbury, Mass., and then removed to Springfield, Mass in 1640
