      FRED BROWN RITES HELD HERE LAST FRIDAY, JUNE 13

      Fred Brown was born on October 26, 1988, at Grantsburg, Wi. where he grew to manhood, also spending some time during his youth , in the southwestern part of Minnesota. He then started work for the Canadian National and Great Northern Railroads as a fireman and followed this occupation until his marriage.

      He was united in marriage to Della Pearl Dailey in 1919 at Pine City and they then made their home on a farm East of Hinckley, where he resided until his death. He passed away very suddenly of a heart attack on June 8, 1952. He had not felt well for the past five years until this spring, when he felt better than he had for a long time, and his death came as a very sad shock to his family and friends.

      Funeral services were held at Zion Lutheran Church on Friday, June 13, with Rev. Eugene Strinden officiating, and he was laid to rest in Clover Cemetery. Casket bearers were Henry and August Triemert of St. Paul, Andrew Maser, Lyle Doe, Darrell Waggoner and John Lappe of Hinckley. Mary Ann Currie sang 'Whispering Hope' and 'Beyond the Sunset' at the services with Lois Chollett at the piano.

      Surviving him are his wife, and the following children:Peggy,[Mrs Paul Pangerl] of Rutledge; Shirley,[Mrs. Orville Steen] of Hinckley; James of Askov; Sylvia, [Mrs. Raymond Marcotte] of Minneapolis; Kenneth , in the service at Fort Benning, Georgia; and Duane at home. One son Arthur Merle, preceded him in death. Also two brothers, William and Anton at D'arcy, Saskatchewan,Canada; one sister, Mrs. Peter Rohrer of Duluth, and nine grandchildren.

      Out of town relatives and friends attending the funeral services included, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Rohrer, Marge and Patty; Thelma Stevens, Mr. and Mrs. John Marcotte of Duluth, Mrs. Mina C. Dailey, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Hemenway of Milwaukee, Wi., Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Dailey of Lanesboro, Mn., Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Dailey and Mrs. Sophia Andermann of Chatfield, Mn, Mr. and Mrs. Al Haymen, Mrs. Clara Paulson, Christine Fish, and Jenny Pedersen of Grantsburg, Wi., Mr. and Mrs. August Triemert and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Triemert of St. Paul, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Pangerl, and Mr. and Mrs. Joe Pangerl of Rutledge, Mn., and Mr. and Mrs. Bill Treloor and Louis Peterson of Aitkin, Mn.
