  From The Abell Family in America by Horace and Lewis Abell: "Some records mentioned a James Abell, marrying Sarah Bowen, Dec 27, 1686 but this appears to be incorrect. The original vital records of Rehoboth state that Sarah Bowen married Preserved Abell, Dec. 27 1686. The vital and probate records and register of deeds do not list any individual by the name of James Abell. No record has been found that shows the name of this child. It is quite probable that a connection with the Maryland-Virginia-Kentucky families may be established through this child."
