- Ephraim, apparently b. 1624-7 in Plymouth, as Robert and Margaret Hicks apparently had three children with them in 1623-4 when the division of land was made, yet had four children when the division of cattle was made in 1627 (Samuel, Ephraim, Lidia and Phoebe.) Ephraim m. 13 Sep 1649, Elizabeth Howland and died 3 months later, 12 Dec 1649. It is this widow, Elizabeth (Howland) Hicks, who marries John Dickenson, 10 July 1651, and not the fictional eldest daughter often credited to Robert Hicks.
