His homestead, built on 'Phillips Addition' was called 'Lebanon.' Lieutenant of Provincial Forces before 1655. High commissioner to Governor of Maryland 1655-1658. Affected surrender to Lord Baltimore.

Note	Immigrated to Maryland in 1650 with his wife, Sarah Harrison. Before 1655 he was commissioned Lieutenant of the provincial forces. In 1656 he was a member of the High Commission to govern the colony under Lord Protector Cromwell. 22Mar1657-58, he was one of the commissioners to surrender the government to Lord Baltimore.
